About Tan Yi Lin

In Singapore Chinese Girls’ School, I was the vice captain of the swim team and was selected to represent the school in the Young Entrepreneurs Competition for the Secondary Schools. I received the SCGS Incentive Award for excellent performance in studies and CCA. Having scored 8 distinctions in the O levels, I entered Raffles Junior College and was an active member in the swimming, water-polo and golf team. I represented my club and school in numerous overseas competitions such as Asean Cup and gained a lot of experience during competitions and interaction with foreign peers. I scored A’s in Physics, Chemistry, Economics and Mathematics and an A2 in GP.

Since I graduated from RJC, I have been tutoring and marking students’ scripts, as well as doing attachments in law firms. I have a passion to teach and help children comprehend their work, especially those who have difficulty grasping basic concepts. I am able to explain concepts in a clear and concise manner and believe in forming strong relationships with students and helping them not just in studies, but beyond the textbook. For example, I like to share my previous experiences (study methods) and explore possibilities with them in hope that they eventually find a comfortable path of learning and excel.
